About this day nursery

45am until 6pm, during term-time, offering a nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 11 years. The nursery received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 16 November 2022.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet the individual needs of all children, supported by a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) who ensures prompt identification and effective support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The SENCo works in close collaboration with outside agencies to provide continuous support to staff, children, and parents.

Children at Happy Hands Childcare enjoy spacious environments and an extensive selection of resources that promote physical development. Outdoors, children are encouraged to manage risks as they navigate climbing equipment and tricycles.

They learn self-care routines, such as selecting coats and wellington boots for outdoor play from their named pegs. The nursery places a strong emphasis on community engagement, with children enjoying local walks and visits to places like the lake to observe swans and allotments to learn about food origins.

Children benefit from healthy practices, including well-planned home-cooked meals that cater to various dietary needs. They also learn about hygiene by routinely washing their hands before mealtimes.

The setting fosters strong partnerships with parents, sharing information about children's development and offering suggestions for home learning. Children arrive happy and excited, forming close bonds with staff and confidently making choices about their activities.
