About this day nursery

Happy Kids Dalton, established in 2020, operates as a childcare setting on non-domestic premises in Rotherham, catering to children aged 1 to 4 years. Open all year round, from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, the nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 12th September 2022.

Staff at Happy Kids Dalton forge close bonds with children and their families, taking the time to understand each child's preferences and providing familiar activities to help them settle. The nursery has a well-developed curriculum and provides an environment that encourages children to explore all areas of learning.

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are well supported, with staff sensitively developing activities to ensure all children can participate and enjoy experiences. The setting also provides a community room for health visitors to use fortnightly, aiding information sharing regarding children's progress and those requiring additional support, including children with SEND.

Outdoor learning is a key feature, with a large outdoor area offering opportunities for exploration; children can search for bugs in the sensory herb garden or engage in imaginative play in the mud-kitchen area. This encourages them to build and explore varied resources, developing gross-motor skills through activities like painting with large brushes and building with tyres.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in their children's learning, with opportunities to borrow books from the nursery's lending library to support reading at home. The nursery also supports the local community through drop-in and stay-and-play sessions.

So happy with happy kids Dalton, I took my two toddlers out of a nursery I weren’t too happy with leaving me anxious about sending them to a new one. From the beginning the process of getting the children in and settled has been smooth. I’m more than happy that I made the decision to send them here the staff are very loving and nurturing. My children are coming on heaps since starting. Happy kids, happy parent :)
