About this day nursery

Lime Tree Day Nursery in Thrybergh, Rotherham, is one of seven family-operated nurseries that cater to children from birth to five years old. The nursery is housed in a beautifully converted church building, retaining many original features that complement its "Curiosity Approach" to learning.

This philosophy encourages a child-led environment rich in natural and open-ended resources, moving away from toys with a single purpose to foster imagination, problem-solving, and creativity. Children have ample opportunities for play-based learning, guided by highly qualified Early Years Practitioners.

The nursery aims to instil life skills, self-independence, confidence, and kindness, preparing children for school and beyond. It boasts four spacious playrooms and a secure outdoor area accessible in all weather conditions.

Freshly prepared home-cooked meals are provided daily, and the nursery has received the Healthy Foundations Bronze award. All staff are highly trained, hold relevant childcare qualifications, are DBS checked, and are Paediatric First Aid trained, with the nursery also holding Millie's Mark accreditation.

Our son has been attending Thrybergh Day Nursery for approximately 6 months now and they have been fabulous. We are really happy to send the little one here and he can't wait to get inside - it's easy to see why. All staff are really caring, friendly and well qualified, they are constantly thinking of new activities and ideas to help the children learn through fun and different experiences. We love seeing pictures of what he has been up to everyday via the app and coupled with the drop-off/pick-up handover we feel well informed about his day. The nursery has catered to his dietary requirements and hats off to the in house cook for keeping meals varied and healthy. The nursery as a whole; staff, children and parents, are referred to as the Thrybergh family and that really sums up how the nursery feels to be part of. Would love to tap into the knowledge of the nursery more via a (video) parents evening and better understand how we can help our sons development better.

This nursery does everything you would expect from an amazing nursery. The staff are fantastic. They support the children, have fantastic relationships with them and help them to develop their interests and skills. I’ve always felt confident leaving my son at nursery as they’re brilliant at what they do. Even on days when he’s not wanted to leave mum, within minutes of being in nursery, he’s having fun and enjoying his day. The staff know the children so well and the positive relationships are evident. The setting is beautiful and modern, and not only that, the management team are dedicated to continually updating it and developing the rooms and outside areas to ensure the children always get the best experience. But my favourite thing about this nursery is the fact that they go above and beyond what you’d expect: they host (when they can) Christmas concerts, Halloween parties and summer fairs. They send birthday cards, Christmas cards and congratulation cards. They’ve even made a special trip out in the snow to bring home my son’s teddy, knowing he wouldn’t sleep without it. I can’t recommend them enough, and my little girl will be signed up to attend when my MAT leave ends.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over 18 months now and I can’t praise them enough. The staff are so caring and attentive and my daughter loves to attend. Information is always clearly communicated and the management are approachable and helpful. The setting in a restored chapel is beautiful and has been designed to provide a beautiful nurturing environment for all the children who attend. The use of the app for each child means you have regular updates on your child’s progress and development as well as photos of each day they attend. Thrybergh nursery have managed to create a warm, welcoming environment whilst also being professional and reliable. Nothing is too much trouble and I would recommend to any parent looking for an early years provider for their child.

We love Thrybergh Day Nursery! The setting could not have been renovated from an old church to a nursery any better than it has been! The church features have been used well for its new use and the natural/traditional theme throughout looks amaizing. There is plenty for the children to explore and learn through play. Staff are proffessional and truly love what they do - it shows in an abundance! Working as a nurse my little one has been throughout both lockdowns and I couldnt have felt any safer leaving him there. They have had the safety of the staff and children at the heart throughout no matter the cost time or effort it has taken to provide a safe, clean, fun environment. All with smiles on their faces and keeping as much normality as they can - for this I cannot thank them enough! My little one absaloutly lives for Thrybergh Day Nursery and the ladies that work there, he cannot wait to get their in a morning! I wait all day for him to tell me enthusiastically about his day. I also love the daily photos and updates we get from the nurserys App. Its a great little app to see what they have been upto, how this promotes their learning and seeing what stage they are at in theor development! I cannot reccomend this nursery enough! I have an older child who attended a different setting and my experience this time round has been 1000 times better!
