Hopscotch Rotherham is a nurturing day nursery and pre-school dedicated to providing exceptional childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Located in Fern Court, Woodlaithes Village, the nursery prides itself on its long-serving and passionate staff who are committed to creating a warm, safe, and enabling environment.

The setting operates from 8 am to 6 pm, with optional early starts to accommodate diverse family needs. Hopscotch Rotherham believes in equal opportunities for all children to develop and learn at their own pace, adhering to the EYFS framework.

The nursery is structured into two main rooms: 'Tiddlywinks' for under 2s, offering a secure space for babies and toddlers with various age-appropriate activities and direct garden access, and 'Skittles' for 2-5 year olds, which provides an open-plan environment with dedicated areas for creativity, mark-making, and construction, also with its own enclosed garden featuring a playhouse and climbing frame. Each child is assigned a keyworker who supports their settling-in, fosters positive relationships, and meticulously documents their learning journey.

The nursery consistently updates its curriculum based on children's interests and communicates regularly with parents to ensure a holistic learning experience.

What it's like

Children are very happy and make good progress at Hopscotch. They become keen and inquisitive learners, well prepared for school. Staff work closely with parents to build routines based on children's experiences and interests, helping them to build friendships and trust.
