Inspector highlights
Inclusion & environment
Leaders and staff work incredibly close with parents and other professionals. They gain information and skilfully tailor their support for all children, especially those with SEND. Staff use the information gathered to identify and without delay put in place support. They also carry out their own research to really ensure they provide the best opportunities for each child sharing these effective strategies with parents. Recently staff implemented training to support children with SEND. They share best practise with other staff members to help support other children's needs within the setting.
The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning. When staff reinforce rules, such as using 'walking feet' children can articulate why this is important and where they are able to run at the setting.
I couldn’t be happier with the care and support my child receives at this nursery. The staff are incredibly nurturing, kind, and professional, creating a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe and valued. Their communication with parents is outstanding — I always feel fully informed and involved, whether it’s about daily activities, milestones, or any concerns. Since joining the nursery, my child has truly flourished. They are more confident, curious, and independent, and it’s wonderful to see how much they enjoy learning and playing with their friends. I am especially impressed by the range of activities offered, from creative arts to outdoor play, which help children develop holistically. The team’s dedication, patience, and genuine love for the children make all the difference. I feel reassured knowing my child is in such capable and caring hands. This nursery is a fantastic place for any child to grow, explore, and thrive. Highly recommended!
Read on GoogleOur daughter has been attending Kids Corner Nursery since she was just 9 months old, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support she’s received over the years. From the very beginning, the staff have been incredibly welcoming, warm, and nurturing. You can tell they genuinely care about each child and are deeply committed to helping them grow, learn, and thrive. Every day, our daughter comes home happy and full of stories, she absolutely loves going to nursery! The environment is safe, engaging, and full of activities that support both learning and play. We've also seen so much development in her confidence, social skills, and independence, which we truly credit to the amazing team at Kids Corner. We were especially pleased (but not surprised!) to hear about their recent Ofsted rating being ‘Outstanding’—a well-deserved recognition that reflects the dedication, professionalism, and heart that the staff put into their work every single day. Thank you to everyone at Kids Corner for creating such a positive, loving space for our little one. We’re so grateful to be part of this nursery family!
Read on GoogleFantastic nursery. I researched a few before deciding which one to send my daughter and Kids Corner stole my heart instantly. The warm, friendly vibe I received from the manager when I spoke to her, the amazing staff who work there and go that extra mile for my daughter and the creative and fun activities are all part of the reason I will always recommend this nursery to others. Haven’t regretted my decision at all and the recent ‘outstanding’ Ofsted grading confirmed my decision!
Read on GoogleFantastic nursery. I was really nervous sending my 1 year old to nursery but Kids Corner staff really helped her settle in easily. Little one loves going to nursery everyday, she has learnt so much and is so comfortable with all the staff. Talking about staff- they are all amazing, really helpful and brilliant with the kids. I think one of the best things for parents is the observations loaded on the app to let them know what their child has done during the day, or even simply if they have eaten and had a nap. It does give that peace of mind. I can't fault this nursery one bit and would definitely recommend it to every parent looking for one. You can see why it got an outstanding rating from ofsted!
Read on GoogleMy 22 month old attended this nursery for 10 months from January 2025. He became happy, started to settle after some initial struggles he began to make steady progress. Upon returning after the summer break he found it hard on his first few days to be integrated back into the nursery setting after spending 7 weeks at home. He has delayed development, which requires additional understanding and support—something I expected a childcare setting to be prepared for, especially given that the director has over 13 years of experience in education. He built a strong and positive relationship with both his key worker, the staff in the baby room and the nursery manager, who were absolutely fantastic with him. They went above and beyond to support him and I’ll always be grateful for their care and commitment. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the nursery director. Despite only meeting my child once upon returning in September after maternity leave, she made a judgment that ultimately led to his place being terminated. Her attitude towards us as a family shifted noticeably, with every communication handled negatively leading to a complaint being made to her. Rather than working collaboratively to address the complaint in order to support our child or seek constructive solutions, she chose to end his placement giving just over a week to find a new placement, during a time when most nurseries will close for the half term break. This decision was made after her ofsted inspection, baring in mind I had made the complaint before. This decision was not based on any behavioural issues or disruption caused by our child, but instead on a breakdown in the relationship between myself and the director- a relationship she made no effort to mend. It is incredibly disheartening that a setting which should champion early years inclusion would choose to act this way. Personal differences were placed above the wellbeing of a child who was beginning to settle again, progress and be happy. The lack of compassion, flexibility, and professionalism shown was upsetting and deeply disappointing. A child has been mistreated by the director and will now have to resettle in a new placement providing one is offered to him and start all over again through no fault of his own. It is clear his face did not fit in her vision of her setting upon her return, or she was not ready to take on a challenge should one have arose. By terminating his contract, she gave the impression she had exhausted her support for him and placed her pride as a priority. Must I say, to try and build bridges I took a gesture for all the nursery staff on the day I was slapped with the termination. One that she could not see beyond. One that she could not emotionally get over. I hope the director takes this experience as an opportunity to reflect on how she supports children with additional needs and how she manages relationships with parents, but most importantly how she addresses issues and talks to parents, putting her own emotions aside and acting as a professional in a professional environment. Every child deserves patience, understanding and a nursery that will advocate for them, not turn them away when things get challenging.
