Little Mu'mins Day Care Ltd, located in Leicester, offers a nurturing and supportive Islamic environment for children aged six weeks to five years. The nursery focuses on fostering play and exploration to help children develop into confident and independent thinkers.
They aim to instil Islamic beliefs and values alongside British values, cultivating respect, love, and understanding. The nursery's philosophy is encapsulated by the butterfly's journey, guiding children through 'The Caterpillar Room' (0-2 years) for exploration, 'The Cocoon Room' (2-3 years) for developing independence and routine, and 'The Butterfly Room' (3-5 years) to build confidence and prepare for school.
The curriculum adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, emphasising seven key learning areas, starting with Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, and Physical Development, then progressing to Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding of the World, and Expressive Art & Design. The ultimate goal is to help children achieve honesty, confidence, resilience, strong communication skills, a caring nature, and self-respect, enabling them to reach their full potential while embracing their cultural and religious heritage.
Our ethos
At Little Mu’mins we pride ourselves in providing a good, safe, secure, Islamic environment for our children to thrive and grow to the best possible individuals they can be. We incorporate the Islamic beliefs and values in there day to day routine as well the British values nurturing our children to grow up with respect, love and understanding for each other. Our children leave our nursery taking the basic practices of Islam with them like Dua’s for daily tasks and some knowledge on the important sayings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him Alhamdulillah. Our nursery theme is the butterfly. This is because the journey of the butterfly is extensive before it becomes the beautiful winged creature we see. Just like the butterfly we aim to nurture our children from the caterpillar stage to become the best versions of themselves.

Inclusion & environment
Staff provide effective support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They identify gaps in children's development at an early stage and act promptly to address them. Staff work closely with other professionals, such as speech therapists and local authority advisers, to ensure that children achieve their potential.
Children benefit from a range of physical activities that they thoroughly enjoy, such as throwing balls, jumping and balancing. Staff lead a jumping game, and afterwards, they ask children to feel their chests, extending their knowledge about the effect that exercise has on our bodies.
