About this day nursery

Kids 'N' Co Playgroup, located in Bridgwater, Somerset, has been a welcoming environment for preschool children since 1992. This small, friendly preschool prides itself on fostering personal relationships with families and nurturing each child's potential.

They achieve this by providing a warm and inviting play environment and structuring their teaching to meet individual needs and interests, all within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The nursery's philosophy centres on supporting each child's confidence, autonomy, and self-respect, encouraging both independent and group work, and helping children express their feelings respectfully.

Each child benefits from a 'special adult' and is able to progress at their own pace across all developmental areas. Kids 'N' Co also emphasises providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment to prepare children for school, and acknowledges parents as their child's primary educators.

The playgroup utilises an allotment to teach children about the natural world and the origins of food, and celebrates their journey with a graduation ceremony.

Our ethos

Within our setting: - Every child is individually supported in developing confidence, autonomy and self-respect. - Every child is encouraged to work and concentrate independently and as part of the group, sharing and cooperating with others. - Each child learns acceptable ways to express their own feelings and to respect the feelings of others. - Each child has a 'special adult' to relate to. - Each child is able to progress at their own rate within all areas of development. - We provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment that prepares children to progress with confidence. - We recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their child.
