Westover Little Stars Pre-School, established in 2007, is a childcare setting on non-domestic premises in Bridgwater, Somerset, caring for children aged 2 to 4 years during term-time. Rated 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2023, the pre-school offers a broad and ambitious curriculum with activities tailored to all areas of learning and development.

There is a particular focus on communication and language development. Staff hold high expectations for the children and nurture them to achieve excellent outcomes.

All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language, make good progress and are well-prepared for their next stage of learning. Children engage in imaginative outdoor play, from singing road safety songs before going into the garden and discovering worms, to experimenting with wet and dry sand, and creating expansive marks with brushes and water, or chalk on wall-mounted boards.

Children also benefit from a range of visits and visitors, such as trips to the library and local café, woodland walks to observe seasonal changes, and meeting police officers, enriching their understanding of the local and wider community. Parents commend the staff for their high level of support and regular communication regarding their children's learning and progress.

The curriculum is broad and ambitious, with all areas of learning and development considered in the planned and flexible activities. Staff have high expectations and nurture the children very well towards excellent outcomes. All children make good progress, particularly those who speak English as an additional language and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
