All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language, make good progress and are well-prepared for their next stage of learning. Children engage in imaginative outdoor play, from singing road safety songs before going into the garden and discovering worms, to experimenting with wet and dry sand, and creating expansive marks with brushes and water, or chalk on wall-mounted boards.

Children also benefit from a range of visits and visitors, such as trips to the library and local café, woodland walks to observe seasonal changes, and meeting police officers, enriching their understanding of the local and wider community. Parents commend the staff for their high level of support and regular communication regarding their children's learning and progress.

Outdoor space

Children sing a road safety song when they go to the garden. They use their imaginations here as they find a worm in the playhouse, pretending it is a snake. They fill and empty buckets of sand and talk about how wet sand is different to dry sand. They make wonderful expansive marks with large brushes and water. They experiment with wet chalk and dry chalk to see the differences as they draw on the wall-mounted chalk boards.
