About this day nursery

Kids Zone is a day nursery in Hackney for children aged one to two years. It was rated 'Good' by Ofsted at its inspection in May 2024. The day nursery is open all year round, from Monday to Thursday from 8.45am to 4.30pm and on Fridays from 8.45am to 12.30pm. The organisation accepts government funding for two, three and four-year-olds.

The Ofsted inspector noted that staff provide a wide range of activities based on children’s interests and promote positive behaviour. Partnerships with parents are strong, and staff encourage a 'good deed note' system where achievements at home are celebrated at the nursery to build children's self-esteem. Children have time outdoors, where they take part in balancing activities and obstacle courses. Managers work with external professionals to support staff and to ensure children with special educational needs and/or disabilities build on their skills.

Our ethos

We provide a nurturing environment where every child can grow, learn, and explore their potential through play-based learning and individualised care. Every child receives individual attention in our caring, family-like environment. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage for optimal learning outcomes and offer outdoor learning experiences connecting children with nature.

What it's like

Managers and staff greet children and parents enthusiastically. Staff encourage parents to send a 'good deed note' which highlights a good deed their child has performed at home. The key person shares the good deed with everyone, and they all show delight in celebrating and praising the children, which supports children to settle in well and helps to build their self-esteem and emotional well-being successfully.
