Kidzrus Private Day Nursery, The Lodge, is an Ofsted-rated 'Good' childcare facility situated in a residential area of Manchester, convenient for local schools and transport links. The nursery prides itself on offering a warm, caring, and homely environment that encourages children's development through stimulating choices and activities.
The facility caters to up to 75 children of various ages, with open-plan rooms designed to create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. The nursery's approach to the curriculum is not rigidly structured, but rather follows a routine that helps children feel secure and anticipate their day.
They offer four specialised rooms: a recently refurbished Baby Room for infants aged 0-12 months, focusing on personal care and sensory exploration; a Tots Room for 12-24 month olds, providing a larger space for physical development and encouraging independent choices through a variety of resources; a Toddler Room for 24-36 month olds, where practitioners foster social awareness, self-esteem, confidence, and independence through age-appropriate play; and a purpose-built Pre-School Room for children aged 3 and over, which prepares them for primary school with introductions to phonics, maths, and technology, while supporting individual learning in key developmental areas. Outdoor play areas are also a vital part of the nursery's offering, supporting physical abilities, freedom, and connection with nature, all while maintaining stringent safety measures with CCTV monitoring.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported extremely well. The experienced special educational needs coordinator works closely with families and other professionals. Prompt referrals when concerns are identified enable children to have access to the support they need.
Recent investment in the environment has created new opportunities for children. The development of an art studio and forest-school area allows children opportunities to explore their creativity outdoors. Children learn about the natural world as they investigate the bark on the tree, and use chalks to make marks and experience the different textures.
My daughter attended the Lodge for a year before starting school… starting school too early that is… because the staff forcibly insisted that she could no longer stay and needed to go to school as she was turning 4 in June. This information I later found out was INCORRECT. I had done some research and knew (sort of) that I could leave my 4 year old in nursery until the summer she turned 5, but this insistence from the nursery, who as a first time parent I trusted to know best, lead me to enrol my very young child in school when nor she or I were ready. My daughter had a very hard time settling into school because of this! She’s always going to be one of the very youngest in class, yet the law clearly states she did not need to be in school so young! I was extremely disappointed with how the lodge staff handled this, which felt like an agenda to get rid of rather than support. There was also a time I had decided to leave the nursery for a much cheaper option and was manipulated into staying when that only benefited the nursery who increased their fees twice in the 12 months (or less) we were there. Pick up times were also very stressful because the staff showed no care or empathy after 17:45. They wanted children out and that was that. If we paid for children to stay until 6pm why try and charge late fees at 6 o’clock… and cash only that is? Because it’s illegal and unethical. Would not recommend.
Read on GoogleWe signed our little girl up on a recommendation, and from the settling-in days we knew this was the perfect nursery for us. The staff—Karen, Jess, and Emily—have been incredible in helping our daughter settle. They are nurturing, supportive, and genuinely caring. Our little girl is absolutely thriving and looks forward to going every day. The staff treat the children as if they were their own, and the nursery has such a lovely, family feel. We’re so grateful to have found a place that feels like a second home for her. Highly recommended!
Read on GoogleOur little girl has been going to Kidzrus for just over six months now and has developed so much in that time! All of the staff have been amazing, in both babies and tots, as well as the support staff you see every day. Everyone is always super welcoming, helpful and above all caring to the children and parents alike. I’d recommend just having a walk around, you can just tell the support that the children get is second to none and the nursery itself is clean, modern and safe. Would definitely recommend to any parents.
Read on GoogleOur daughter has attended this nursery for the past couple of years, and I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of the incredible staff. They have been patient, compassionate, and completely attuned my child’s individual needs. They all work so hard to create a nurturing environment, and my daughter adores her educators. We recently had the joy of attending her graduation party, and it was clear just how much love and effort the nursery puts into every detail. From the red carpet entrance to the medals and certificates for each child, the celebration was absolutely magical. They even brought in Louby Lou for a fun-filled form party that my daughter absolutely loved. The whole day was a testament to how much they value and celebrate each child’s journey. We can’t recommend this nursery enough to any parent looking for a safe, supportive, and inspiring start for their little one.
Read on GoogleAmazing nursery with such caring and compassionate staff. Our little boy has been attending nearly 6 months now and he throughly enjoys his time there. He is showing great progress in all areas of his development and forming great bonds with the staff there, particularly his key person Karen, as well as Sadia and Jess. It is clear to see that the staff team and management are all very dedicated to their roles in developing the children whilst ensuring they have great fun along the way!
