About this day nursery

Little Companions Leicester, established in 2016, is a Montessori-inspired nursery located in a historic Victorian building in South Highfields. The nursery is dedicated to offering children a comprehensive, secure, and enriching educational journey within a supportive and stimulating environment.

Adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, the curriculum fosters independence by recognising children's innate curiosity and capacity for self-initiated learning. They cater to children aged 2, 3, and 4 years old, though the baby room is currently not in operation.

The nursery operates during term-time, from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm. A team of qualified and dedicated practitioners ensures a professional and memorable experience for both children and parents alike.

Little Companions Leicester is an Ofsted-registered nursery.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

Outdoor space

Children of all ages play together outside and learn to climb, slide, and throw balls. Staff remind children of safety measures, for example, to sit down when they go down the slide. Children enjoy being active in the fresh air.

EAL / language support

A high number of children in the nursery speak English as an additional language. Staff model good language, provide running commentaries on children's play, and support children to understand new words and instructions by speaking in their home language and reinforcing the words and sentences in English.

Even tough I communicated with this setting months ago regarding my son's issue, they just said everything is fine and he can start, however they refused us the morning my son was supposed to start and we had to come back home. This is very unprofessional. They do not even care about the details you submit. I do not recommend this setting at all. PS: I know how a montessori school looks like both from Canada and Turkey. If you are told that it is Montessory inspired, it is probably not.
