Mogghill Nursery School, established in 1974 by Mrs. Dianne Jackson, offers a nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 4+. Since 2018, it has been managed by Dianne's daughter, Kate Hardwick, who has been part of the team since 2001.

The nursery is situated within St Benedict's School and boasts a dedicated staff of professionally qualified individuals. It provides a safe and enclosed outdoor play area, including access to a garden and playing field.

Mogghill Nursery School relocated to its current address in Midsomer Norton in 2013 from Stratton-on-the-Fosse and Peasedown St John. The nursery proudly holds an "Good" rating from Ofsted, with two features highlighted as "Outstanding".

How they support every child

SEND provision

The inclusive nursery and staff have high expectations for all children. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are welcome and supported to reach their potential. The manager adapts staff ratios to ensure all children receive the support they need. Gaps in children's development are quickly identified and addressed. The special educational needs coordinator is proactive in seeking external support for children. She works closely with the families and provides useful information they can use at home.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy fresh air and plenty of exercise. They have opportunities to run fast in open space, grow vegetables or look for wildlife. Children are extremely well supervised by staff in both indoor and outdoor environments.
