Puddle Jumpers Nursery views early education as the cornerstone of a child's development, preparing them for a joyful, healthy, and prosperous life. The nursery dedicates itself to providing carefully planned learning experiences that foster creative thinking and problem-solving.
Through a strong key person approach, the nursery builds upon each child's individual strengths and interests, encouraging exploration and discovery while ensuring adaptability to change. The nursery draws inspiration from various educational philosophies.
The Reggio Emilia approach guides the creation of a neutral, calm environment rich with natural objects, stimulating children's fascination and wonder, and allowing time and space for revisiting interests. The diverse cultural backgrounds of the children inspire the curriculum, broadening perspectives and celebrating differences.
Furthermore, principles from Waldorf Steiner encourage experiential learning through practical activities and creative endeavors. Staff observe children at play, carefully planning activities to scaffold learning, promote independence, and build confidence and belonging.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is used to track developmental progress, working closely with families to focus on the child's holistic needs. The nursery also offers daily outings to local areas, promoting real-world learning and connection with nature, alongside music lessons, cooking activities, mindfulness, and yoga to support well-rounded development.

Inclusion & environment
The special educational needs coordinator and staff team ensure that there is a consistent approach to meeting the individual needs of children. Children receive personalised and targeted support, for example, to manage their behaviours. This supports them to make the progress they are capable of.
Younger children are confident to climb small indoor equipment. They further develop their stamina as they enjoy walks to the local park.
Our son attended this nursery from the age of 11 months until 3½ years, and it has been a truly positive experience for our whole family. From the very beginning, he felt happy, safe, and comfortable, which says everything. The staff are incredibly caring, attentive, and genuinely loving towards the children. Their kindness and consistency helped him grow in confidence and enjoy every stage of his time there. He always looked forward to his days at nursery, and that gave us real peace of mind as parents. We’re very grateful to the team for the care and attention they gave our son over the years and would happily recommend the nursery to other families.
Read on GoogleMy son has been at Puddle Jumpers for just over 6 months and has had a really positive experience! The baby room staff and management team are friendly and approachable and there has ben consistency of my son's key person since he started. The babies are regularly taken on outings locally and spend time in the garden too. We receive regular updates via the app, weekly newsletter with photos etc. The food is cooked in house and the variety of food is excellent, balanced and healthy, mainly vegetarian. There is a nice nursery community with lots of extra events such as monthly coffee mornings for parents and a Mothers Day breakfast. Would highly recommend this nursery!
Read on GoogleMy son loves this nursery, he has been there for around 9 months so far. He has built excellent relationships with many of the baby-room team and has developed so much during his time at Puddle Jumpers. I appreciate that the team is quite stable and mostly the same faces each day. The planning seems to be well thought through, with many activities and almost daily trips out in the local area for the children. The menu sounds excellent and is very diverse, and parents are regularly updated on what the children are eating. Communication with the nursery management and the team in the room is easy, either by speaking to them at pick-up/drop-off or through the app. We also receive photos through the app regularly to know what the children are getting up to. Overall - a fantastic nursery with very kind staff! Would highly recommend.
