Rainbow Playschool in Evesham offers care for children from two to eleven years old. It operates all year round, from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, and provides funded early years education.

At its inspection in February 2026, Ofsted judged the playschool to be Requires Improvement. The report noted that while some improvements have been made, the curriculum is still in development and teaching is variable. The inspector found that children are independent, making their own play choices in a secure and well-maintained environment. The setting provides healthy snacks and fresh air, with outdoor activities including digging in the sand, playing with bubbles and using a seesaw. Staff identify children with special educational needs and/or disabilities for targeted support, and parents told the inspector they were happy with the service provided.

What it's like

Since the last inspection, the provider has been working closely with the local authority early years team. While some improvements have been made, the playschool curriculum is still in development. As a result, teaching is occasionally variable and children's progress is not yet consistently good in all areas.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are identified. The provider and staff are working with external agencies, where applicable, to provide targeted support for these children. However, there is scope for the provider and staff team to build better relationships with other providers, specifically local schools, to further support smooth transitions when children are ready to move on.

Outdoor space

The environment is suitably resourced both indoors and outside. Children like physical activities in the garden, including digging in the sand, playing with bubbles and riding on a seesaw. This helps to promote their well-being.
