Ripley Pre-School, established in 2003 and re-registered in 2012, operates from the former Ripley Church of England Primary School, offering childcare for children aged 2 to 4 years. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm during term-time only, the pre-school received a Good rating at its latest Ofsted inspection on 5th February 2025.
Children are warmly welcomed by friendly and caring staff who understand their unique personalities, ensuring they feel happy and eager to participate in activities. New children receive ample support to settle at their own pace, fostering close relationships with staff whom they actively seek out to join in games.
The curriculum places a strong emphasis on promoting personal, social, and emotional development, helping children to make friends and enhance their well-being. Staff model kindness and good manners, which children readily mirror, demonstrating an understanding of how their behaviour impacts others.
Communication skills are supported through staff extending children's language and aiding pronunciation. Children are provided with daily opportunities for physical activity in the fresh air, encouraged to take managed risks as they balance on giant balls and kick footballs.
They also engage in activities such as birdwatching and making bird feeders, learning about the natural world around them.
