Roger's Burrow Day Nursery is a unique setting in Plymouth, specifically designed for naval families, operating from a purpose-built facility on a naval base. Open Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm, for 51 weeks of the year, the nursery provides care for children aged 0–5 years.

The latest Ofsted inspection, on 11th March 2022, rated the nursery as 'Good' overall. The dedicated team, which includes staff with various qualifications up to Level 6, ensures a nurturing environment where children feel emotionally secure, safe, and happy.

The curriculum is exciting and interactive, planned around children's interests, questions, and needs, such as creating dinosaur egg hunts outdoors when children show interest. The management team prioritises the children's emotional, personal, and social development, with a strong focus on helping them socialise and engage in a wide range of activities.

The nursery excels in its Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) provision, with the manager and key persons successfully implementing their intent to support every child by understanding their home routine, interests, and needs. Early identification of children requiring additional support leads to rapid intervention integrated into daily routines.

Children are taught how to keep themselves safe during play activities and routines, and they actively explore the outdoor area during activities like dinosaur egg hunts. While parents appreciate the key-person system and regular updates on their child's daily experiences, the nursery aims to enhance communication systems to better inform parents about available support and how they can support learning at home.
