The Bush Nursery, established in 2000, provides a childcare setting for children aged 1 to 4 years. 30pm, for 48 weeks of the year, it operates on an all-year basis rather than term-time only.
The nursery received a "Good" rating from Ofsted in its latest inspection on 2nd September 2022. Children are noted to settle quickly and confidently with the caring staff, who encourage participation in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
The curriculum embraces outdoor learning, with staff implementing ideas from training to develop the outside area. For example, children show enthusiasm for finding leaves and sticks in the garden to create shakers.
Staff engage children in discussions about their feelings, helping them to learn about emotions. Parents have expressed appreciation for the nursery, commenting positively on their children's progress and valuing the regular communication from staff, which keeps them informed about their child's activities and how to support learning at home.
The nursery remained open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, with the manager maintaining contact with families and providing activity ideas for children at home.
