The Co-operative Childcare Southampton, known as Little Pioneers Nursery and Pre-school, provides a nurturing environment for children, focusing on their holistic development from an early age. The nursery emphasises a 'Pioneering Pathway' that encourages independence, resilience, and social responsibility through thoughtful learning experiences and a dedicated team of Early Years Educators.
With a commitment to promoting healthy bodies and minds, the curriculum incorporates activities that teach good nutrition, emotional understanding, and physical well-being. The nursery also fosters an inclusive atmosphere where every child's individuality is celebrated, and their voice is heard, aligning with Co-operative values.
The spacious indoor areas and adventure garden provide ample opportunities for exploration and play, supported by a team that is fully first-aid trained, holding Millie's Mark certification for safety.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have their needs met well. Staff provide opportunities to support their learning and development in ways that appeal to them, using group times and engaging activities with objects to gain attention and help close gaps in development, particularly around listening and attention skills. Additional funding has been used to support the development of children's speech and language through additional resources and staff training, ensuring support is maximised for each individual child.
Children who speak English as an additional language have their needs met well. Staff value and respect children's home language and learn common words to help children settle into the nursery. They work closely with parents to demonstrate the benefits of children speaking their home language, as well as English, at nursery.
Such a lovely show around this nursery by the lady who took me round, the nursery is a beautiful setting with so many resources and an amazing set up. Loved it! Unfortunately I found the manager very off, she seemed almost too busy to speak to me as when I knocked to speak to her we got the response “I’ve got phone calls coming in from everywhere at the moment” as a parent who is viewing your nursery I should be a priority and my questions should be important to you as I’m trusting your setting with my child. Maybe I caught her on a bad day not sure; we all have bad days. But it did put me off as she wasn’t very welcoming at all. But overall lovely nursery! Staff were lovely also who worked in the rooms, defo worth a look if your looking for childcare:)
Read on GoogleWe have had a great experience in Ladybirds, the baby room, at Co-op childcare. The staff are very kind and sensible and we feel happy dropping our daughter off each day knowing she will be well looked after. The menus are great, with lots of variety- she always seems to eat well when she’s there.
