Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Inclusion is a particular strength of the nursery. Leaders and managers use regular and ongoing assessment to accurately identify children's individual needs, monitor progress, and plan appropriate next steps. The SENDCo and staff act swiftly to identify emerging needs, make referrals to outside agencies, and put plans in place, including attending specific medical training. The SENDCo works closely with families, including for education, health and care plans, to ensure all children receive needed support, targeting individualised support in the setting and at home. Additional funding is used effectively to support children's progress, for example, specific resources are purchased to help support any gaps in children's development.

Outdoor space

Children engage enthusiastically in a range of activities indoors and outdoors. They strengthen their large muscles as they splash in puddles and laugh with their friends. Children explore nature with curiosity and respect, for example, becoming excited when spotting a squirrel on the fence and showing concern for a worm on the concrete. Staff help them to decide where to move it safely. Words such as "shuffle", "ripples" and "frosty" are used during outdoor activities to enrich language.

Lovely nursery, the owners, manager and staff clearly care about all the kids in the nursery setting. All 3 of my children have attended Toybox and have each thrived from being in such a wonderful environment. Would highly recommend to anyone, knowing the staff at nursery for 7 years I can honestly say they been a great influence in my children's lives.

Both my girls have attended Toybox day nursery from 2019 to present. All the staff are warm and friendly and all are very experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to child development. All activities & observations that are sent home are very thorough and show my children having a wonderful time. My girls love the meals and always have full tummies when they leave.

We have been using Toy Box Nursery for nearly 4 years now, with our child starting school in September this year. Throughout the 4 years we have had nothing but a great experience with the Nursery and the Staff. Watching our child learn, grow and make friends while there has been pure joy.

Nice building but awful unprofessional manager. Becomes very very defensive when asked questions. If you disagree with anything or express your own preferences she treats it as though is an argument and accuses you of being aggressive. The only kind of conversation she seems able tontolerate is one where you smile nicely and agree with her. This is the kind of manager who has no clue how to deal with concerns or complaints, which is that absolute last thing you want in someone managing your child's care setting.
