D" (Wonder, Inspiration, Love of Learning, Discovery), the pre-school champions play-based and outdoor learning, especially through its Nature School programme for children in their last year before primary school.

They encourage every child to follow their own learning path, developing resilience, creativity, persistence, and self-esteem within a stimulating setting that prioritises individualised growth. The pre-school operates during Gloucestershire County Council term-time for 38 weeks a year, offering both morning and afternoon sessions, with early drop-off and late pick-up options available.

While not providing on-site lunch, they ensure children have access to water throughout the day and offer healthy morning and afternoon snacks. Tutshill Community Pre-School works closely with families to offer flexible payment solutions and accepts government funding from both English and Welsh authorities to help cover fees.

For families needing care beyond their core hours, the pre-school has partnered with a trusted local childminding service, Mandy & Michelle, providing wrap-around and holiday care with convenient drop-off and collection services. The pre-school aims to be inclusive, accommodating children with dietary requirements, allergies, or intolerances.

We are a community Pre-school that caters for children aged 2-5. We believe that learning through play supports children to develop into resilient, creative learners. Children feel safe and secure in this nurturing, community-driven setting where staff provide reassurance and a wide range of inviting outdoor play opportunities. Staff plan the curriculum to promote independence, with children making choices at snack time and helping with food preparation. They move freely between activities, supported by staff to extend their ideas and engage in imaginative play to teach routines and deepen knowledge through carefully planned experiences.

Pricing & funding

Nursery charges are structured around school hours with full-day and half-day options available. Fees are differentiated by age group for additional unfunded hours, early drop-offs, and late pick-ups. A daily voluntary contribution is requested to cover snacks and extra activities.
