Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents speak highly of the nursery.
They are appreciative of the additional work completed by staff during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic to make sure their children are safe and are well cared for.
They say they are really looking forward to being welcomed back into the setting to take part in activities with their children.
They particularly enjoy contributing to special events at the nursery and the good communication they receive from staff.
Inclusion & environment
Staff work with parents and other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, when children need extra support. However, further development is needed to ensure that leaders have an accurate picture to make sure all groups of children are making good or better progress.
Younger children are learning how to carefully walk down the stairs to the garden. Children are absorbed as they explore different activities outdoors, such as filling and pouring in the mud kitchen.
Staff help children to develop their communication and language skills, including for those children who are learning English as an additional language. Staff teach children new words with good use of a signing programme.
Excellent nursery with fantastic staff and well managed, i cant rate it highly enough. Only positive experiences!
Read on GoogleOur 4yo son is about to move onto big school in autumn and we had him at the Walthamstow Village Montessori Day Nursery since 2020. We felt supported and listened to by staff and management throughout this period and felt that it was the right setting for us. It was reassuring to go to work and know that our son was in a safe and caring environment. We have always been up to date with his progress via their app and met his key-worker as and when needed to agree on next steps. They helped us with seamless transition during potty training and were really great in making sure our son develops his independence and social skills. We feel he is now ready to progress to the next stage and also pleased that he has been improving his literacy and numeracy with the help and dedication of his pre-school teachers.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has attended this setting from the age of 2 and is now 4. I am very happy with it as a nursery and pre school. The staff are expert, friendly, hardworking and approachable. Both the range of activities and communication with parents is very good. I feel confident that my daughter is safe, well cared for and also having a lot of fun. She has formed good friendships with other children there. Her reading and writing skills have developed well from the age of 3 onwards. I would recommend this setting to other parents. I will be sad when we leave it!
Read on GoogleMy child is moving onto primary school this September and I'll be sad to say "goodbye" to everyone at Walthamstow Village Montessori Day Nursery - It'll be the end of a very happy chapter in my child's life, but the start of an exciting one too. From the baby room right through to pre-school, the experience has been brilliant - The staff are helpful and accommodating, thoughtful and kind, and I never had any doubt that my child was in the best hands whilst I was at work. I'd thoroughly recommend the nursery to anyone looking for early years childcare in E17.
Read on GoogleMy 2 year old has been coming to this nursery for almost a year, and I am delighted with the place. The new manager communicates frequently and openly with the parents, and is constantly looking for ways to improve. The activities engage my son (they also offer 'jumping beans' and 'football' classes in addition to the regular routine) and he's always happy to be dropped off. I feel happy knowing that my son is well looked after while I am at work. The nursery staff are very caring, and the children's body language around them is very positive. My son has learned so much since starting this nursery (that I haven't taught him) and I am really pleased I managed to get a place here. I would expect the nursery to receive an Outstanding rating at the next Ofsted inspection.
