About this day nursery

Windmill Nursery Centre, located in Greenford, caters to children aged 2 to 5 years, providing childcare on non-domestic premises. The nursery operates Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am until 4 pm, and is open 48 weeks of the year.

The latest Ofsted inspection, on 13th January 2023, rated the nursery as 'Good' in overall effectiveness, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. Children are reported to be happy and safe, developing warm relationships with dedicated and knowledgeable staff who are attuned to their individual care and learning needs.

A significant number of children attending the setting have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). To support these children effectively, leaders and staff maintain close collaborations with various professionals, such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, and paediatricians.

This collaborative approach facilitates the creation of thorough individual learning plans and helps staff implement strategies to achieve each child's targets. The nursery is also noted for its strong emotional support for children, using familiar songs, sensory activities, toys, or stories to assist with self-regulation.

Children make good progress towards their personal learning goals, partly due to carefully planned interventions like "bucket time," which supports social skills, concentration, and language development. The setting plays a vital role within the local community, supporting children's transition to school and aiding families during challenging times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lovely little nursery we used a few years back. All the staff were really fantastic on a daily basis and very supportive in getting my daughter into a specialist school, particularly Bernie, Cathy Ann and Linda. I would recommend this nursery to all, they are welcoming and understanding. Thank you Windmill!

Lovely and clean space. They sing nursery rhymes to the kids and have lots of toys for them. I wish it was open more days as they only provide Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoon sessions for kids depending on the child's age. You also need to book in advance for some sessions which makes it difficult to find space unless you call and book early Monday morning.

A great centre. I attend for the baby groups with Julie who is brilliant. Babies can also use the sensory room as part of the play group. My son loves it!
