Our ethos

Wingate Childcare provides care and education for children from three months to five years. It shares its philosophy with that of Wingate Nursery School, believing that all children have the ‘right to a good childhood’. Childcare will possibly be a child’s first venture into the world outside their family, therefore we believe it is essential that this experience is of the highest quality. We aim to provide a safe, warm, and homely environment, a stimulating place where children can play, explore, talk, learn and have fun together. Our intention is to provide a happy, safe and nurturing environment that strengthens the wellbeing of children. We aim to provide our children with a variety of hands on, meaningful experiences which in turn develop into new knowledge and skills. We ensure all experiences are meaningful and follow children’s interests and value their ideas. How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported extremely well. The knowledgeable special educational needs coordinator ensures swift referrals and high-quality support plans. Staff work relentlessly to ensure each child gets the right help at the right time, with precise, achievable, and constantly reviewed targets.

Outdoor space

The beautiful environment which staff create in all the rooms and outdoor spaces gives a strong sense of the success of their high expectations combined with the daily structures. Outdoor learning is an integral part of the daily routine. Children have superb opportunities to learn about nature and the wider world around them, expertly taught by staff.
