Yapton Community Pre-School is an Ofsted-rated "Good" preschool situated in the rural West Sussex village of Yapton, within the grounds of Yapton Primary School. The preschool operates as a committee-run registered charity and limited company, maintaining strong connections with local schools.

It boasts two bright, spacious rooms and a large, colourful foyer often used for play and learning. A significant feature is its extensive enclosed garden area, easily accessible from one of the rooms, complete with an all-weather surface, a sheltered section, and a wooden outdoor room, enabling year-round outdoor activities.

The "Caterpillars" room caters to children aged 2-3, while the "Butterflies" room is for 3-4 year olds (September school starters). The curriculum provides age-appropriate activities and crafts, encouraging free-flow between groups to foster personal, social, and emotional development, as well as speech and language skills and physical growth.

The outdoor space is utilised for exploring gardening, nature studies, forest school sessions, and rambles. The pre-school prides itself on its dedicated staff who build strong bonds with children, fostering a nurturing environment where individual achievements are celebrated, promoting self-esteem and pride in their efforts.

What it's like

Children eagerly come into pre-school where they are warmly greeted by staff and settle quickly into activities. Staff support children to develop independence and to solve problems, often working together. Children also develop physical skills and learn to take appropriate risks safely.

Pricing & funding

Fees are charged at a flat hourly rate and are payable in advance on a monthly, half-termly, or termly basis. Fees are reviewed annually. No refunds or reductions are made for short-term absences.
