Bretons Preschool is part of the Playdays Preschool family, a business established in 2010. They are dedicated to fostering the development and education of preschool-aged children within a supportive community setting, providing a stimulating, secure, and safe environment.
The preschool operates within a framework that ensures equitable opportunities for all children and their families. Their curriculum is specifically designed to achieve approved learning outcomes, adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines.
They emphasise individualised care and attention, with each child assigned a dedicated key person and a high adult-to-child ratio. The preschool promotes fun and friendship among children and adults, and encourages families to actively participate in the group activities and their child’s learning journey.
Bretons Preschool has two locations in Rainham, one at the Bretons Outdoor Centre and another at St Helens Church Hall.

Inclusion & environment
Staff accurately identify any gaps in children's learning, and the provision in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is good. Staff form close links with parents and other professionals to ensure that assessment information is shared and individual education plans are agreed. The special educational needs coordinator implements one-to-one sessions with individual children to close gaps identified in their development, working closely with the child's key person, parents and other professionals to ensure support is in place for the child.
Staff provide opportunities for children to engage in rigorous outdoor physical activities, where they show great enthusiasm and demonstrate good mobility, balance and coordination. Although staff encourage children to choose and lead their play, they do not consistently plan opportunities for them to manage tasks, such as putting on their own coat and wellies when going outside to play, to strengthen their independence.
