About this day nursery

Bright Horizons operates over 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, offering comprehensive childcare solutions for families. Their approach, known as 'The Nurture Approach,' focuses on integrating learning with emotional well-being to support each child's development.

They provide a curriculum called 'Bright Beginnings,' which incorporates five key learning areas into activities designed to build practical and life skills. Mealtimes are prioritized with freshly prepared food, and they offer provisions for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The nursery day is structured to cater to babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, with a strong emphasis on outdoor play, including Forest School and Eco-Schools programs. Understanding that starting nursery is a significant transition, Bright Horizons offers non-chargeable settling-in sessions for up to six weeks before a child's start date, allowing families to familiarize themselves with the environment and build relationships with staff.

These sessions are tailored to individual needs, promoting a smooth transition and fostering a secure attachment with a dedicated Key Person. They also provide guidance on various childcare funding options available to families.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

The special educational needs coordinator works well with other professionals, and parents, to ensure a cohesive approach towards children's individual learning goals. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities get the support they need and make progress towards their goals.

Outdoor space

Despite having no outside area, staff use the available space to ensure that children get opportunities to develop their gross motor skills. For example, children participate in yoga sessions and staff move furniture aside to set up obstacle courses. Additionally, staff take children on daily outings into the local area, such as to parks and the library.

One of the most fantastic nurseries I have come across. The friendliest teachers - all of them are so fantastic but shoutout to Ms Courtney and Ms Nanette who looked after my little one Avni the most. The best nursery managers Saira, Caroline and Natasha. They are professional, hardworking and really, really care for the children. Lots of activities planned, outdoor activities - the kids learn lots! They are very respectful of restrictions with meals (we are vegetarian) and encourage them to eat independently. The staff were highly supportive in our difficult potty training journey too. It was a challenge but they took it on the chin. We waited over 2 years to get a place for our eldest here and I can see why. We recently had the most beautiful graduation ceremony for my eldest, lovely songs taught to the children, activities such as pass the parcel and a wonderful party afterwards - all on a Saturday and all at their expense. This place deserves 10 stars. Thank you Bright Horizons Bank Street team. So glad to be starting our little boy here with you. Couldn’t be more grateful.

My daughter was with BH Bank Street for one whole year and honestly I could not have asked for a better, more nurturing environment for her. The team is absolutely brilliant. The attention to detail, the love and the care they show towards each child is just unbelievable in this day and age. It wasn't one size fits all at the nursery. Every child is catered to and looked after based on their individual needs. They helped me with everything from bathroom transitioning, food requirements, outdoor safety and sun protection to anything else I needed to feel safe in leaving my daughter with them. Absolutely brilliant staff especially in preschool classroom from Nanette, Courtney, Farhana, Luciana Wendy to office staff Saira and Natasha. I am sure I am forgetting someone, but they are all very well trained and extremely empathetic. My son will be joining next year and I can't think of a better place for him to start. If you want a safe environment fot your child where they listen to your needs, then this is the place to go for.

My daughter has been going to this nursery since 13 months old and I can tell the staff looks after her with love and care because she loves going there! I really appreciate the routine and the structured learning this branch provides for my daughter. She gets to experience so much fun activities which I cannot easily provide at home and has developed so well since joining and I really owe it to this nursery for making that happen.

Thank you to Jaspreet and her fabulous team for making our toddler’s start at Bright Horizons Bank Street so welcoming. I was really nervous about the big change, and with timings being challenging, I had my concerns. But Jaspreet went above and beyond to accommodate us, and my child is so happy there now—it’s hard to believe I ever worried! The food always seems delicious and healthy, and they do a wide range of activities, including creative indoor projects and regular excursions around Canary Wharf. Despite not having private outdoor space, the team takes the children out daily, giving them the chance to explore different areas instead of the same space every day. They also strike a great balance between providing updates via the app and not being on devices constantly to achieve this. Overall, it's been a fantastic experience - I can highly recommend to any parent.

"I can't say enough good things about this nursery! Both my son and daughter attend, and I couldn't be happier with the care they receive. The nursery is always spotless, creating a clean and safe environment for the children. The staff here are truly exceptional; they are so sweet and treat each child as if they were their own. Their passion for kids' learning is evident in everything they do, and it shows in how happy and engaged my children are every day. Over time, the staff have become like family to us, and I feel incredibly grateful to have found such a warm, nurturing place for my little ones. I highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a caring, supportive, and enriching environment for their children."
