My son was very anxious about going to another educational setting due to a bad experience at school. He has SEN and finds it difficult to form relationships, so starting somewhere new was extremely challenging for him, and at first he was very reluctant to go into sessions. Jade, his tutor, has been amazing. She made him feel safe and comfortable and took the time to build trust with him. Despite his difficulties forming relationships, he has developed a really strong bond with her, which has had a huge impact on his confidence. He now walks into sessions confidently and genuinely enjoys being there. He loves his tutor, and she couldn’t be more caring. In such a short time, he has come on so much both academically and emotionally. The sensory room that they have is amazing, my son loves it in there and it really helps him regulate before and after sessions. We are incredibly grateful to the Gateways team and would highly recommend Gateways Tutoring, especially for children with SEN or those who have had difficult experiences in school.

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her holiday sessions before Christmas. She thought the activities were brilliant and raved about the sensory area. She came home regulated and could tell me all about her days, which never happens normally. It’s helped build her confidence and was great for her to have some independence in a safe and inclusive environment.

My daughter attended as part of the HAF scheme which included children with SEN. It was a very welcoming environment. The staff were lovely and friendly. The setting was full of resources to use such as books, games, crafts and lots more. There was also a sensory room to help with regulation. The staff were engaging with the children and you could see they had built a lovely relationships over the few weeks it was running for.

My son started with Gateways Education around 18 months ago in preparation for his GCSEs. He is covering Maths and English alternating weeks. He has come on so much in this time and the tutors have been fantastic with him. If he gets stuck on any revision he can get the help he needs on a one to one basis. His confidence and knowledge has grown so much in this time. My son has just landed a fabulous apprenticeship at a local engineering company, so would like to thank Gateways Education for the excellent support they have given him along this journey.
