Children arrive confident and happy, learning independence by tidying up and following routines. They engage in a wide range of activities, fostering imagination in role-play and developing language skills with effective staff support.
The curriculum encourages children to build on existing skills; for example, using play dough to strengthen hand muscles before progressing to mark-making with pencils. The nursery places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, with staff engaging children in discussions about the weather and appropriate clothing.
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are particularly well supported, with managers coordinating with external agencies such as speech and language therapists. This collaborative approach ensures that staff are equipped to meet individual needs, leading to good progress in language and communication for children with SEND.
Managers are committed to staff development, providing training and support that enhances skills and ultimately benefits the children's progress across all areas of learning. The nursery also thoughtfully uses funding to provide resources that support children's next steps in learning, such as toys to develop physical skills in babies.

Both of my children have attended the nursery from an early age and both have been extremely happy at Wickersley Nursery. The staff are kind and caring, and quickly develop bonds with the children. As a parent, I want to know that my children feel safe and happy. Both my children have really good social skills from attending Wickersley nursery and the activities that the staff do with the children are excellent. The nursery uses the Family app so I can check on what they have eaten throughout the day and they also share development milestones and activity photos. This is always nice to see on my lunch break. The facilities are good too, including a lovely garden with plenty of outdoor play equipment. The current manager is also keen to bring in new equipment for different activities. If I have had an issue then this has been quickly addressed by the management team. I would recommend Wickersley Nursery
Read on GoogleWickersley nursery have been absolutely fantastic with my son. He was very shy when he first started having moved from a different nursery but the staff were brilliant and built his confidence so much. Facilities are great with a lovely outdoor area. Thank you for everything you have done and for preparing him for school! You will be missed xxx
Read on GoogleFantastic nursery. Staff are wonderful made my Little boy feel welcome and at ease instantly. He has attended nearly 2 years now and after previously having a childminder i can firmly say this was the best move for him. He has interaction from other peers his age and the work the staff do with him is unbelievable. From phonics and educational learning to day to day things like independently putting on shoes coats ect. Going to be a sad day when he leaves to start school in September. Massive thank you to everyone there.

Read on GoogleWorst experience ever.Manager lacks professionalism and if you air out your grievances she is quick to defend her own staff. My daughter came home drenched in wee meaning she hadnt been changed at all all day .I complained about this and was made to feel like a liar and was marginalised for making the complaint.I ended up pulling my daughter out of that nursery as the service was just appalling.
