Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for the most disadvantaged children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, is incredibly well targeted. Very strong links with other professionals, such as inclusion support officers and local authority professionals, are in place. Management use funding to provide children with additional experiences, and gaps in children's knowledge and skills are closing rapidly.

Outdoor space

Superb opportunities are provided for children to develop their physical skills and take risks in their play. For instance, they learn how to safely balance on beams, climb on outdoor equipment and negotiate space in the garden. The inspector observed the quality of education during activities, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning.

My daughter has been with the nursery on a funded place since November and she absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing and always so happy and smily with the children. We are always kept informed on how our daughter is doing and the staff are always happy to have a chat or answer any questions we have. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds since joining, not only with things she is learning but with her confidence too. We can't forget to mention Mark and the food! My daughter loves nearly everything she is given at nursery and the variety and menu choice are incredible.

My son has attended this nursery since September. He has developed his communication and independence skills. He knows how to play with others and has made lots of new friends. He has lots of new hobbies. The staff are friendly and accommodating to my child's needs. They take the children out on trips and let them play outside and explore in all weathers. They have hosted lots of parent engagement sessions and share pictures and useful information linked to age related milestones/events on the family app. :)

All 3 of my daughters attended the nursery as far back as 2006 and as recently as 2019. Wonderful venue, fantastic staff and a superb way to get them ready for school. Can’t recommend highly enough. I have also run countless Rugbytots sessions for the children there over the last 6 years and always made to feel very welcome and the children are well behaved and very enthusiastic to play!

I can highly recommend Northfield Under 5's. Our 2 year old daughter started attending two mornings a week in September. She'd got to the stage where she was ready for a bit of independence and to make friends. I thought long and hard about what type of provision would be best for her and after a visit over the summer decided on Northfield Under 5's. The staff are all fantastic - very warm and friendly and our daughter has settled in really well and talks about nursery and her new friends all week long!

Absolutely fabulous nursery. A professional but caring environment, I couldn’t recommend more. Having two children who have attended and one due to start soon I’m so happy we decided to go with this nursery.
