About this day nursery

Little Holcombe Nursery, along with its sister nursery Tower View, offers a secure, engaging, and caring environment where children can learn through play and discovery. The nursery prides itself on an exceptional team dedicated to providing outstanding care, consistently recognised by seven consecutive "Outstanding" Ofsted inspection results.

Owned by Stuart and Linda Butterworth, who have over 50 years of combined experience in teaching and healthcare, the nurseries are run with a deep personal passion for childcare. Stuart, a qualified teacher specialising in music and maths, focuses on quality and staff motivation, while Linda, a qualified Occupational Therapist with an MBA, is meticulous about health and safety.

Their professional backgrounds and personal experience as parents of four adopted children and two grandchildren inform their approach, ensuring they understand and meet the diverse needs of families. The management team, which includes long-serving members like Senior Manager Vickie Kaye, Manager Sarah Whittle, and Deputy Managers Jamie Gallagher and Stacey Smith, contributes to a low staff turnover, fostering a stable and nurturing atmosphere.

A full-time qualified teacher and Early Years Professional, Judith, further supports the pre-school children and mentors staff. The nursery encourages active parental involvement and provides an information hub with resources on childhood illness, weaning, and food allergies.
