About this day nursery

Nuh's Ark Nursery Group aims to provide an inclusive and accessible childcare environment for families within the local community. They are registered on the Ofsted Early Years Register and operate under the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring adherence to safeguarding and welfare requirements, including staffing ratios of 1:5 for children aged 2-3 years and 1:8 for 3-5 year olds.

The day nursery focuses on flexibility in attendance patterns to accommodate individual family needs, though the full use of funded hours may depend on current circumstances such as staffing capacity and existing cohort. They are committed to equal opportunities, inclusion, and diversity, actively consulting with families and monitoring admissions to prevent accidental discrimination.

The day nursery maintains an emergency admission space per session and admits children based on a strict date of birth order. Parents receive an information file upon admission, detailing various policies including equal opportunity, safeguarding, and attendance.

They are a provider of funded early education for eligible 2, 3, and 4-year-olds and also run holiday clubs. The nursery provides care for children from the age of 2 years up until they reach statutory school age, emphasising a supportive and welcoming atmosphere for all families, including diverse genders, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds.

They encourage parents to bring packed lunches for certain sessions.

Inspector highlights

Areas to develop

  • 3Improve staff's knowledge of how to embed effective behaviour management strategies and routines to enhance children's understanding of expectations of them during transition times.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff generally support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) effectively, providing smaller key-worker groups and, where appropriate, additional one-to-one support. Robust tracking systems and progress checks help identify children who may require additional support.

Outdoor space

Older children regularly access the outdoor environment and engage in physical activity. However, the youngest children currently have limited access to outdoor play and fresh-air experiences, and the nursery is working to ensure all children have daily outdoor access with appropriate clothing.

Unwelcoming atmosphere with unapproachable, inexperienced staff. Nursery staff member asked very rude, personal and insensitive questions putting less focus on the welfare of my child. Nursery staff are very laidback and couldn't contribute to what they do on a daily basis for my child's development. This is a nursery I would highly NOT RECOMMEND. It is a private nursey and I would expect more from this establishment especially if I am paying for it. Despite OFSTED's rating of it being a 'good' nursery, further investigations need to be required and would like a review put in place. I do not feel that my child would be safe and secure due to the unprofessional attitude and mannerisms of the staff members.
