About this day nursery

St Anne's Pre-School, located in Gateshead, operates during term time only, from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm, and has been serving its community since 1992. The pre-school caters to children aged two to four years old, offering a full day care service with a capacity for 24 children and a current roll of 36.

Parents consistently praise the pre-school, noting that their children are happy and eager to attend, developing strong relationships with their key persons and other staff. The dedicated team of five childcare staff, all qualified to at least Level 3, including one with qualified teacher status, are committed to fostering children's learning and development.

They provide a well-resourced indoor and outdoor learning environment where children enjoy activities like planting strawberries, playing with train tracks, and exploring play dough. The staff effectively teach children about safety, such as negotiating steps and understanding the dangers of slopes, and promote healthy lifestyles through messages about fresh air, exercise, and nutritious packed lunches.

The pre-school also works in partnership with other professionals and the local school to ensure comprehensive support for children, especially during transitions to Reception class. While the managers have a strong understanding of the pre-school's operations, they are working to refine their monitoring practices and improve information sharing with all parents and carers.
