West Rise Nursery, part of West Rise Primary School in Eastbourne, focuses on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where children can thrive. The school prioritises wellbeing, aiming to foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere for all pupils.
They value strong partnerships with families, believing this collaboration is key to a child's success. Parents are encouraged to visit the school for a personal presentation by the Headteacher, offering insights into the school's ethos, vision, aims, and achievements, including its OFSTED rating.
The nursery ensures a smooth transition for children, whether they come from its own pre-school, another setting, or home, through a well-defined Transition Policy. The admissions process for the primary school is managed through the Local Authority, accepting children into Reception in September of the academic year they turn five, with careful consideration given to each child's needs for a full-time start.
The school actively works to provide a clear and accessible application process, directing parents to the East Sussex County Website for online applications, and also providing information regarding appeals against school allocation decisions.
